During these unprecedented times, we are counting on your belief in the importance of childhood literacy. Our library staff is working diligently behind the scenes to develop creative solutions for children’s online learning and planning for future programs.
Now more than ever, your donation is needed to help children have access to online reading materials and future programming. Make your gift today to protect literacy for our most precious resource - our children.
Plus, the Friends of the Wichita Public Library will double your impact by matching every $100 donation dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,000. All gifts will underwrite children’s programming. Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a big difference.
Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Program
This initiative held throughout November reached 4,600 people in 2019, making a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families at risk for low literacy. They provided 200 copies of a children's book to early childhood educators and held storytimes across the city, focusing on families at risk for low literacy at library branches, schools, daycares, bus stops, and more.
